YWCA York empowers youth to fulfill their potential.
Building Strong Foundations
Childcare
Every child deserves support for a strong start and the opportunities that high-quality early learning can provide.
YWCA York’s Learning Centers are designed to encourage each child’s individual emotional, social, intellectual, creative, cultural, and physical development in a safe, nurturing environment that actively promotes acceptance. YWCA York is nationally accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children, and our center holds a 4-star rating from the PA Keystone STARS program, which means our programs meet the highest level of quality in PA’s early learning assessment.
Camp Cann-Edi-On is part of the long tradition of camping at YWCA York.
Our Camp Cann-Edi-On Summer Program provides an opportunity to connect with friends and make new ones while enjoying the benefits of the outdoors. Our Creative Explorers Summer Camp is an on-site camp that keeps students actively engaged in discovering parks, Cherry Lane, the rail trail, and other attractions.
QOP provides one-on-one and group mentoring, focusing on academic achievement, community service, and personal growth with an emphasis on college preparation.
York Synchro Team
The York Synchro Team provides a creative outlet for youth to stay healthy and learn discipline, self-motivation, and teamwork.
Scholastic Esports Program
The Scholastic Esports Program provides a unique outlet for team-building, teamwork, conflict resolution, problem-solving, and hands-on STEM learning through video gaming.
L.J. came to visit the Quantum Opportunities Program (QOP), needing a space where he could grow as an individual and as a student.
During his first month in the program, L.J. shared with the QOP mentors that his mother wasn’t too fond of him participating in QOP. L.J. was persistent in proving to his mother that the program was actually helping him in various aspects of his life.
Academically through QOP, we offered him tutoring for his school work from our mentors. With personal development, QOP mentors helped him develop coping skills to assist him in combatting any stress he endures on a daily basis. Through acts of service, L.J. has been willing and able to lend a helping hand to his peers and mentors when needed.
L.J. is now in his senior year in high school, currently considering entering into the construction management field, and is on target to graduate on time!
